This movie is so bad that it needs to have a kill scene from time to time to wake us up! What did happen? Did I miss anything?! This one is a mess! It starts going in one direction, then they go in another direction,
First he's a get away driver, next hey kid do you want to be a race car driver? Ending up with this love? Simpaty thing for the next door neighbor woman with a kid and married to an ex-con
The movie ends up being boring, flat the cast was badly casted. Driver the actor (don't get the hype this guy is getting) he's a terrible actor. Wen driver gets angry/mad there's nothing there he's voice sound fake, there's nothing there, no passion, no anger in his voice. Wen you say I'm going to kill you. You say I'M GOING TO KILL YOU with passion with believe with certainty. Not sounding like a kid talking in Church.
This one is another case of pathetic over hype cr@p from this time and age. C'mon the only good thing in this cr@p-a-ton was Ron Perlman!
the music basically stunk and did not match up to the movie and the movie was not very good it was not on point and the characters were nothing i could personally get into it was bleh
meh, was ok, but overrated.
quoting soulgun "WORST {...} there's a lot better in 1000 other films!!!"
well, you might be overreacting, especially because you haven't seen 1000 other films yourself.
I really, really loved this flick. I feel like this film is going to be studied and copied for the next 20 years. People will try to improve on it, saying its slow and too arty and needs more action and violence. They'll make similar films and fail. This is a special film, one I will be seeing again soon. Possibly tomorrow.
With its emasculated wheel rims and its storytelling in engine braking, we drive from an expected blurred Vanishing Point to a sleeping Tony Scott film.
The film is beautiful to look at, but it never 'hooked' me. This distance made me far more critical of it than I probably would have been watching it in the cinema. I appreciated the mood, but found Gosling acting style a little off in such a naturalistic diegisis. From the start, the trope of the boy needing a father figure annoyed me simply because they made it so obvious, and I wish the mother had been given a more interesting storyline. I was also little impressed by the cliché scene of half naked women, where Gosling is basically framed by boobs and awkward ladies. We get that the guys are assholes, why do filmmakers always think it's necessary to put them in situations with exploited women to prove it? Oh right, they want use the female body to attract more male audiences. My bad.
I was otherwise entertained by the film and I'm glad I've seen it, even if it didn't meet my expectations.
If only Bryan Cranston could have popped on a fedora, called himself 'Heisenberg' and driven me right out of this movie to the nearest motorhome in the desert so I could do some meth to forget how much this movie DRIVEd me crazy....did I say I didn't like it?....yeah, pretty much...Breaking Bad is how modern neo-noir should be done...not this DRIVEL
Overrated! As Wikipedia puts it: "a bizarre concoction...reminiscent of David Lynch's Mulholland Drive...Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, and [with] angst-laden love scenes that would not be out of place in a Scandinavian drama"
