Most of this film is out of focus, the shots are too quick to comprehend (let alone the intertitles), and the performances are hokey. 4 years 8 months ago -

It's impressive that they filmed all that underwater.
Too bad the print is degraded, as an early silent Western from Ecuador is an interesting rarity.
If you want to follow the story, be ready with the pause button, as many of the intertitles are flashed too quickly. 11 years 1 month ago -

Here is a synopsis of the short:
The film begins with a view of Guayaquil and Quito in 1920. This fictional western tells the story of a Texan who returns to Lares after a long absence. He becomes involved with the daughter of a landowner and with a prostitute, in a relationship of love and jealousy. This environment develops and leads to fights between men who are vying for both power and women. 11 years 3 months ago
