:dombrewer, it wasn't Polish concentration camp. I believe the correct way of calling them is "Nazi concentration camp in occupied Poland". I don't suppose you meant otherwise, but since even Obama had to apologise for using the former expression, I felt it was my duty to point it out.

Although this was a British TV movie from the 80s and has dated a little, the power of the story hasn't diminished at all - a gripping, extraordinary account of what happened at the Polish concentration camp Sobibor when the Jews turned the tables on their SS captors and attempted a mass break out. Alan Arkin is great as Leon, the brains behind the operation with some fine performances from Joanna Pacula (gorgeous!), Jack Shepherd and Rutger Hauer (effortlessly charismatic, shame about the Russian accent). Guaranteed to have you complaining about having something in your eye before the credits roll.
