Before he achieved world-fame with Young Frankenstein, Marty Feldman had starred in popular UK sketch show It's Marty which provided a platform for him to play the starring role in this feature film. The thin plot of Marty being an advertising exec trying to sell porridge with sex is a device to hang a series of sketches on as Marty fantasises about adverts and sexy women. Time has not been kind to the sub-Benny Hill antics, and it now all looks incredibly dated, delivering neither amusement nor sexiness. Worse, the advertising plot is pretty much dumped two-thirds into the movie and so that the movie can become a formulaic farce and end in an overlong brawl. The production design and costuming is nicely colourful and its status as a relic of sixties/seventies psychadelia may be enough for people interested in the comedy of this era to watch this. 6 years 1 month ago
