Enjoyable but, quite forgettable. A typical 80s high school movie with drugs and boobs.
Yes, it's fun seeing a young and stoned Sean Penn, but what else is there? The film is extremely fast paced and it is really hard to connect with any of the characters.
Besides, how is this in more top lists than Say Anything or After Hours, for instance?

Well I finally got around to watching this movie and I've gotta say I was a bit disappointed.

I thought the movie would be quirky and funny but it's pretty much average in most areas and pretty dated.

Calling someone a fagjust makes it hard to sympathise with a character.

But pushing the blatant homophobia aside, I was just bizarre that they've got a character who is 15 and she spends half the movie topless, and loses her virginity to a 26 year old? That's just blatant noncing and just very weird to watch.

I will give the movie kudos for actually having an abortion in the movie (albeit without any mental fallout for the poor kid) in a time when America was very backwards about abortion laws.

Overall it's an average movie. Sure it may have been funny and relevant in the 80s but I can only watch this movie in my young, modern eyes and sadly this movie does not hold up.
