I watched the restored version that was about 4 hours long. It was "restored" with a bunch of stills not actual footage. I found this to be pretty annoying and the film was almost nonsensical and boring because of it. I would seek out the 140m version as that is probably better.
The shorter version is definitely better, a great film! The 240m version is really more of a curiosity piece of historical interest; the 140m version still works amazingly as a film today.

The original film was 9 1/2 hours long. Thank god for the editing because that would have been unbearably long.george4mon

I LOVE silent films, but I have to say, this is definitely the worst Classic Movie I've ever seen. Maybe there's something wrong with me, LOLMovieDearest
Sadly, this is not on DVD. TCM did show it at least once a few years back.monoglot
Is it available on DVD? Netflix doesn't even list it in its database.Wise Jake
