As an early slasher it's still fairly interesting to see that someone attempted to mimic the Halloween template to the point of a similiar soundtrack, some similiar locations, some of the iconic shots (to name a few: Myers stalking from a distance, the bedroom and Jamie Lee Curtis beeing frightened) in there and even kind of a pseudo-Dr. Loomis role.
While the production is alright, tempo/image compositions etc, it is undoubtedly an amateur directing effort that is served more as a caricature than anything else, there's just no effectiveness to what is beeing attempted and the killer looks like a gimp (not in a comedic way either).
