Didn't realize until the closing credits that the second biggest female part was the director herself. AND that she unfortunately died too young of leukemia in 2020. Sad.
As for the "fucking" film, far too "fucking" much bro-speak in the "fucking" dialogue. Various bonding scenes with laughing people seemed really staged and over the top. And I didn't like the direction of the final sequence. Since they were filming themselves in a hotel room and didn't have a third-party cameraman, the shot should have been just a minimalist simulation of a running camera sitting in a corner of the room. Instead, the film maintained the same shaky, handheld camera used throughout the rest of the story, which now suddenly makes you imagine a fictional helper in the room with them. The only reason I watched this is because four film critics had it on their yearly top ten lists and the libraries I use only had one copy left between all of them. The point is that the simple and stupid plot- the overworked hip, slick and cool dialogue- and the obvious acting didn't save this from being a dislike. 2 years 4 months ago
