Compared to Iron Man 1, I want 2 hours of my life back :(
Is this the dumbest comment ever? Quite possibly. What does it even mean? So, compared to say Transformers or even worst movie, it was a time well spent? But compared to a better film, you hated it? I can't grasp your logic here. Whatever...
Anyway. I really enjoyed this movie for the same reason I enjoy every sequels of franchises I don't like - I had no expectations. It was entertaining, gripping and action packed, just what I wanted in one rainy evening. Of course, compared to some of my favorite action movies, it wasn't entertaining at all and I want my wasted time back.
I must admit to being impressed. Everything I liked about the first one - the banter, the flawed hero, the world stage, the cool set pieces - are all here again, but where it could have just been an "installment", IM2 actually progresses the character's arc. One thing I like about Favreau's direction, the actors' delivery, and Genndy "Samurai Jack" Tartakovsky's storyboarding is the sense of PAUSE. In the middle of quick-fire action or banter, they take the time to pause, creating delicious comic effects. I dare say the final battle is better than in the original, and while I didn't think Whiplash/Blacklash was anywhere near the top of Iron Man's rogues' gallery, linking him to the Stark legacy really made him work. Sam Rockwell's hilarious. Even the Black Widow has some awesome action scenes (Scarlett's acting I could take or leave). All in all, great fun.
As ok as the previous one, although very similar, as expectable anyway; inferior in relation to action, yet more solid when it comes to drafting the plotline for those who aren't familiar (and perhaps don't even want to) with the comics, like me.
Nevertheless, I think it's not really worth the time if you're not into this Marvel thing or haven't watched the prequel.

There are some little plotholes, but nothing worth mentioning. Trivial story and mindblowing special effects add up to a blazing popcorn flick with an absolutely awesome soundtrack. Worth watching.
Pretty good film. Spiced up with Scarlett Johanson and Mickey Rourke. Uh, Rourke is very charismatic and brillant in this one !!! A new level of filming, too,, is presented . Thankyou Favreau
