A strong idea, great atmospheric cinematography and a very strong cast are undermined by some misjudged SFX of little wriggling beasties. If you can overlook the spiky foetus puppets flapping around there's a lot to admire - the stalled tractor in the slurry pit for example is a superb scene of suspense - and the ever unfortunate Sean Harris gets to act out an idea later re-used in "Prometheus" -
another film he fails to survive - impregnating his girlfriend with infected DNA, resulting in a mutant "baby". And if nothing else "Isolation" taps into something we all know: cows are weird and a little bit creepy. Horror fans should definitely give it a look.
