Best thing about IT is that the adults are all creepier and scarier than an omnipresent monster clown that eats children.

The kids are all good actors and it's got some good scares, though the CGI and soundtrack mean it becomes more of a Halloween funhouse rather than having a sense of fear or dread. One of the better horrors of the year and a cut above the usual jump-scare films.

To the people who have trouble finding this, use the IMDb link. It points to the exact page. Having written that, I realize this comment is useless to anyone trying to find it xD;

Great movie. Pennywise wasn't half as scary as that girl's father though.

Nothing like a film called "IT" to really demonstrate how truly terrible icheckmovies search is :P

Let me preface my thoughts on It by saying I am not any kind of Stephen King fan, have not read the book, nor even seen the TV mini-series from, cleverly enough, 27 years ago. So I didn't see the theatrical release with the kind of fond nostalgia that seems to be driving the box office. Perhaps that's why my opinion tends towards ambivalence. At least as to the horror, which felt like a series of barely connected set pieces whose cheap effectiveness was too predicated on jump scares to really engage me. I get it, it's about an illusion-casting fear monster, and that comes with a variety of possible effects, but I don't think it follows its own rules, not about its powers, not about its weaknesses, and not about its modus operandi. Where the movie does work is with its excellent underage ensemble cast (can't wait to look back on this like we do the superior version of this story, Stand By Me, and its star-making), and the often funny dialog. I like Bill SkarsgÄrd as the clown too. And there's a lot playing in the background that you'd only catch on subsequent viewings, which means it certainly has replay value. Just going by the conversations I've had this week, It is likely to age quite well. Will I check out Part 2 when it comes out? If it's in 27 years, I'll probably be dead. If it's soon (it's slated for 2019), then probably, for completeness' sake, but I'll lament the loss of those young actors.

Two and a half hours of deeply worn-out, threadbare images. Stylish, creepy, effective, sure, yadayadayada. I feel that our culture needs new images, as Werner Herzog says; without them we will perish like the dinosaurs, but looking at the business this flick is doing makes me wonder: do we actually deserve them?

As a huge Tim Curry fan, and having some nostalgia for the original mini-series, I went into this with muted expectations and a simple hope for something fun.
It totally delivered.
As many other reviewers have said the coming of age element of the film, and humor, and charming banter between the kids, is what will stick with me -- and the comparisons to "Stand By Me" are appropriate.
Also, fan of the mini series or not, the budget in the original limited what they could really pull off on-screen and having a big budget definitely aided in the imagery (particularly the "floating" scene).
It struck me as a labor of love as opposed to a hyped up unnecessary cash-grab (think Nightmare on Elm Street reboot). It won't make you forget Tim Curry's performance but I think it did enough to allow you to appreciate it as a separate entity.

To search for a movie you can just copy and paste the imdb url of the movie, it makes searching for movies way more easy.

Also, I loved this movie. I didn't scare me as much as the actual book (it's a pretty scary book) but I had so much fun watching it. The soundtrack was a little too much for me, some scenes needed more silence to build the tension. The chemistry between the characters is pretty great and Pennywise is even more disturbing than I remembered.
The whole theater would laugh and jump together, it was an amazing experience to watch it on the big screen with other unknown people.

I agree that it was hard to get to the movie page here. :) And regarding the movie, I don't think "IT" deserves all that hype but it is a proper movie to spend a couple of hours watching.

King's novel is my favorite all ALL of his works (second only to the The Dark Tower series). I was satisfied by what was brought to the table. I cringed a little at what I felt were not-so necessary changes to the story (as opposed to the MOST necessary), but I do look forward to 'Chapter 2'. The kids were great performing some very difficult tasks that no Hollywood film I think has asked of young actors to do in a long while.

Loved the 80ies setting and the kids are well cast. Has a few thrills but it didn't do anything for me.......but that's because i'm not a big horror genre fan. Has it's moments though.

Can remember seeing the TV movie in the 80ies.
