   Wow! Rather a must to see, and certainly should be in more lists, especially war film lists.
   I watched this immediately after the 1919 version. It is not a remake, although the basic plot line of two soldiers in love with the same woman remains, you get a drastically shortened reprise, and then it takes it forward 20 years.
   So a sequel? Well, not really ..
   The beginning and end parts of the film are stunning .. a shame about the rather stodgy middle section which just stops it being a total classic.
   Try and see both versions back to back if you can 6 years 10 months ago

   Yes! Thank you, Abel Gance for such a powerful movie. If the dead (our ancestors) could talk they would be against the war (and I mean any kind of war). We should always keep this in mind. 3 years 9 months ago
