A string of unrelated, uneventful, and unfunny comedy sketches. Monty Python is more surreal, has more intelligent satire, and of course is way more funny.(Having watched a dozen Bunuel films now, I've also noticed that he is actually a mediocre filmmaker. The camerawork, compositions, and cinematography are always lackluster and uninspired).

It's fascinating when you look at how none of the sketches conclude. They transition into the next scene like in a dream. The premise of the scene is vaguely introduced, sometimes nonsensically, and then it plays out, leaving the scene hanging before any kind of meaningful conclusion has occurred. Midway through the next scene you could look back and wonder how the previous scene ended, but realize that it doesn't matter because it is all about the journey, existing only to tantalize you with questions of "how will it conclude?" before abandoning it entirely.mihalisk
A disagree with the poster below; I believe this is one of Mr. Buñuel's finest (if not his greatest achievement).Cornelius P.
Fun movie even though it left me thoroughly unimpressed.Yousef Mousa
Bunuel's creativity is unlimited! His sarcastic, bizarre and surrealist execution can make us excited even though we don't understand completely the meaning of his films.I don't think there is any one who can do it like he does
