Now this one is a truly cinematic poem. Poetic (sur)realism at its best. Bunuel would be proud. 8.5/10 11 years 9 months ago

A beautiful film that puzzled me as I watched it but the longer I think about it and consider the themes the more impressive it seems. Not very much happens, but like much great visual, non-narrative cinema (Terrence Malick's films springs to mind) the smallest details have a greater impact. I read afterwards the title refers to Pythagoras' concept of the transmigration of the soul into four elements: human, animal, vegetable and mineral, all of which are explored. One for lovers of nature, of animals, art and the human condition. 12 years 9 months ago
