By the end I'd grown quite involved in the character's lives, and been moved from a position of acid satire, even dislike, through to sympathy. We all know or have met people like these, and maybe even been them.obsscura

This one doesn't stand up too well to serious criticism, so better just to say that it's an enjoyable film with plenty of genuinely funny moments. I do find it a tad pathetic though that Guillame Canet felt the need to inject so much borrowed American spirit into his production. I miss the days when French culture could stand alone! Okay, to be honest, I wasn't alive then, but still...
