Really good! Reminded me a lot of Easy A by striking the right balance between humor and drama.
The only thing that left a bitter taste was the fact when Blue told Simon he liked Game of Thrones, and then Simon saw several guys wearing GoT tee-shirts who weren't ~super attractive~...it felt alienating. Like, Simon feels so alone and trapped and even he is super judgmental about falling romantically for another guy who is fat or a lil ugly.
'Cause that is the story of My Gay Experience™ - being romantically compatible but fearing the fact that my looks will be harshly judged.
Also, Simon and his family are WEALTHY, omg. It was noticeable and jarring to me, for some reason? But I get it - his life is supposed to be perfect, except for what he's hiding.
to see which of your friends have seen this movie!
