The most interesting thing here was the reference to the film Des hommes et des dieux and how that paralleled the plot of this film. The rest was rather predictable, but that's what romantic films are these days anyway.
such a poorly made flick. i generally like emilia clarke, but goddamn her acting was annoying and her character was such a cliche "cute lil' goofball". honestly i have seen good rom-coms but this ain't it.
also the "death scene" was such a let down, that weird frame of them holding hands was supposed to do the thing?
I felt uncomfortable how this film takes quadriplegia and suggests that death is the answer. Plenty of people live with quadriplegia and find fulfilment. Christopher Reeve did so much living with this condition. Overall I enjoyed most of the film but found this aspect to sit uncomfortably with me.
Really likeable romantic tragicomedy/drama, I mean, it's less corny than the cover would make you believe and even funny in many occasions. Several great lines especially from Sam Claflin - can't ever go wrong with the "cute person tries to warm the heart of a cynic" formula. Of course the film doesn't explore mortality and get deep regarding it's premise; it's a controversial topic, you can make up your own mind.
But JESUS CHRIST EMILIA CLARKE'S EYEBROWS. She was iconic in Game of Thrones and I essentially liked her too in this, couldn't she use her clumsy mimics just in a, like, 70% less excessive dose? Nearly drove me insane in the beginning, she was close to grimacing! And it became double as obvious beside Claflin's well-dosed play with his so impressively even face. Duh!
Not enough to ruin a nice film, but yeah, it's distracting.

It was ok but it was all terribly predictable and cliché. Plus try as she might poor old Emilia Clarke always overacts.jenski

It was amazing. Did the book justice and was wonderfully made. Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin played their parts extremely well. 10/10 from me.boulderman
Very good, naturally comparisons to similar, at least eight are better but the acting and dialogue was great. The soundtrack was OP thoughEmiam
7/10Better than the French on the same theme.
