Spielberg's best SF movie in years, it creates a detailed future and uses its Philip K. Dick ideas to great effect. Gripping action and a deeper meaning complete the whole.

My expectations were low when I turned on this movie. Tom Cruise has become somewhat of a cliche these days and his action flicks seem to all be the same. But I was pleasantly surprised by "Minority Report". There were times I gasped in surprise, held my breath in suspense and hid my eyes in terror. Overall, a great movie.

Joker of Gotham

One of the best sci-fi movies that I saw recently, I loved the twists, Tom Cruise was great, and with some reason I thought that Max von Sydow was Cristopher Plummer.

It's a decent outing into Sci-Fi for Spielberg, and even though it may not be up to his usual high level of moviemaking, it isn't hard to see his fingerprints on it at many points. The opening sequence in particular is very engaging and pulls you right into the world that Spielberg attempts to craft in the film.

A great movie, fascinates me again and again.

The basic topic is extremely interesting... all the ideas and the visual effects are excellent... the actors are great and the atmosphere of the movie is really scary and sinister - amazing. The ending was very well done and there's a lot of suspense all through the movie. Absolutely thrilling and gripping!

Is this Steven Spielberg's response to the Patriot Act? Possibly. Criminal activity that hasn't actually been perpetrated is still punished in this unusual future.

This movie is wasted potential. Phillip K. Dick is a genius when it comes to sci fi, but Spielberg is not and this brings the movie down considerably for me. I absolutely hate the way he does the future. It is so sterile and boring and the way he uses light in them is absolutely atrocious and brings this incredibly cold atmosphere to a project that does not resemble this tone in either story or design. The only interesting thing in this movie comes from Dick and it is never explored. Such an interesting premise and they used it as a backdrop for a predictable and ultimately overly long thriller. This movie should have been exploring themes of what it means to live in a perfect world where nobody commits murder and how that might not really be ideal but it never goes to those places. Spielberg also shits the bed with sci fi in A.I. though this one doesn't have as bad of an ending even though it is predictable. I knew all of the twists before they happened. Some of them I guessed 45 minutes prior and some of them only 10 or so but still this movie is completely over-rated and I think will start to be looked at as dated and underwhelming before too long.

It's a good movie, but not a masterpiece and definitely not Spielbergs best
