How can you make a boring Mission Impossible movie? Make it overlong, weak story, fill it with overblown slow motion emotionless and unexciting action scenes and a lead character thats totally different than the first movie.

Total lettdown. Hadn't seen it since release and won't ever again. The series rebounded with the exiting next chapter.

Wow, ridiculous. That motorbike scene was the stupidest shit I have ever seen. The tyres kept switching and it just seemed so silly and cartoon. And the love story was rushed and kinda fake. And a flashback to umm, like 10 hours ago??? That is just pointless.

A more entertaining film than the first, even if it gets further and further from the tv series. But by this point, it's its own franchise. I'm a fan of Asian cinema, and John Woo gives the film a stylish, romantic look. I don't think the sequences are as iconic as the first Mission's, and the script has an almost misogynistic streak to it in spots, but Thandie Newton is incredibly watchable, isn't she?

I'm watching all the Mission Impossible films with my soon-to-be 13 year old kid and while the first one hasn't aged well, it still had its charm as a spy movie and a nice introduction to the Ethan Hunt character.

So we continue the series. What a load of sh*t the sequel is. I might have enjoyed it in 2000 when I was 16, being an action horny teenager (and also Thandie Newton horny), but watching this +20 years later , EVERYTHING about MI2 is horrible. The story, acting, plot, pace, action sequences, fight choreography, character development ... I give this movie of a sh*t show a 3/10 and I look forward forget about this movie as soon as possible and rush to the 3rd installment which, in my memory, was actually a pretty decent movie.

The love interest, that it wasn't in the first movie, it decreases the quality, specially a rushed love and attraction that I didn't buy or believed.
Tom Cruise, do not use long hair, it really looked bad.
The worst movie in the franchise for sure, the third one is a lot better.

Bad bad James Bond wannabe. From the Pierce Brosnan era. With Tom Cruise to make it even worse.

***spoiler alert***

Pretty fun, but what's with the ending? "Hunt, you should have killed me".... only to have the gun pointed at his back for 37 minutes, giving him all the time in the world to react.

Ugh.

I vaguely remember seeing this in high school. Something about a horribly over the top motorcycle scene.
