It should be illegal to put the name of a holiday in a movie title and then not have that movie take place on said holiday. Anyone who violates said law should be forced to sit through Mother's Day as punishment. I thought I was pretty well-informed with holiday-themed horror, but truthfully I didn't know there was one about Mom Day. The film is about three college girls who get abducted by a couple of hillbillies and their mom. That's really all you need to know as the plot doesn't get too deep from there. Every cliche in the book is here. Most of the characters are pretty forgettable. The three main girls are likeable enough and I'll give the writers props for actually giving them some backstory to make viewers actually care about what happens to them. If you're into seeing women get raped and people getting decapitated for no reason, then this movie is probably for you.

i'm actually always surprised how a lot of american films are not that well known in the us, while in germany, this has become kind of a cult classic.
