Smooth and deft, with a beautifully complex heist scene that made me rewind for half an hour. The characters are fairly two dimensional but who cares? We came for the star power and surprises. This delivers.
What can I say? Great cast, loved Brad Pitt. A well planned and performed casino heist. Maybe one storyline critic; nearly nothing went wrong. More bad luck could be more entertaining. 7.5/10
A great entertainment - and you know how much I like the heist and con genres - that shows Soderbergh's prowess at 1) assembling an all-star cast and 2) making all the pieces fit. The heist/con focused on robbing three casinos really is a puzzle, and we're given the pieces just right. Las Vegas is a perfect setting, all glitz, just like the cool, cool cast and slick camera work. Soderbergh does it one better by turning the epilogue into an Old Hollywood moment (or series of moments) that pays just the right tribute to the Rat Pack and the days when the original (Ocean's 11) was made.
Soderbergh really puts together a slick heist film. The first thing that sticks out for me is the downright incredible chemistry that the characters have together. There are a ton of moments in the dialogue and body language that lends the belief that these are real friendships and actual camaraderie taking place which is pure gold. Second thing is the choice of cinematography. The shots and scenes are fresh and never gives the impression that Soderbergh is just trying wacky camera angles for the sheer hell of it, the flow is just incredible.
Oh, and George Clooney absolutely kills it. The role seems almost tailor-made for his looks, charisma, and acting ability.
Too many people and not enough depth. All style and no substance. Don Cheadle's British accent is so poor it's makes the movie scream to a halt every time he's on screen.

Continually fun hi-jinx and laughs in a light romantic cool thief comedy. Clooney and Pitt make this look easy.Scratch47
