Superbly acted by Meredith (one of my favorite actors, if only for his range and his frequent appearances on The Twilight Zone) and Chaney, Jr. (he of the horror genre fame), this is a truly heartbreaking tale. It also contains some excellent supporting performances and is overall a great adaptation of a classic American novel.Camille Deadpan

Watched the 1992 version at high school whilst we were studying the novel, enjoyed that one but this one just shades it.mathiasa
