This film features some gorgeous visuals and poignant moments. However it falls short on the story.
Although sombre and tragic, the story of Overlord feels really quite ropey, probably due to the lack of characterisation in general. You sympathise with Tommy because of what he is, but never because of who he is.
Always kind of creeps me out when this happens. Didn't think about the date - 6 June 2016 - until well into this film. 72 years ago to the day. It was just near the top of my stack and got put in the player, today.
Thought provoking look at the D-Day invasion. Thought it was a little pretentious but most anti war films in the seventies were. It was well done if a bit dry.
Some decent visuals and a few interesting scenes but overall somewhat amateurishly done and rather uninteresting as well. The "art" fails for the most part(except the parts with the girl) and the story is badly told and unremarkable at that.

I liked the footage that was inserted but the story seemed like an afterthought.knunow
