There isn't much to be said about PA4 other than the reality that the series is losing its touch. The scares are noticeably more lazy, lame, predictable, and less creative. The story doesn't make a lick of sense, but then again, did the story ever matter in these films? The audience is also given the short end of the stick regarding the climax as it is surprisingly short and unfulfilling compared to the previous films. I will admit there were a few moments of dark, if not mean-spirited, scenes as the younger protagonists are put into danger. Additionally, a few nods to classic horror films, such as Poltergeist, The Shining, and The Omen, can never hurt. But PA4 is overall a disappointing and wholly forgettable experience, caught in the law of diminishing returns that most horror films fall into. 4/10

I think that some people are being a bit harsh on this movie. Sure, it will have it's downfalls like actually seeing the monster in some parts walking around and such, I mean what do you expect, it's a sequel, there are going to be parts where "it's been done before" people run out of ideas, it happens. I mostly found it entertaining in the parts where the family and Alex's boyfriend were talking. I actually wanted to know more about them than the monster. It did jump at some parts like a horror movie should make me do.

So, overall I would give this movie 2 stars and a half.

So this is supposed to be "scary", right?

Yeah, then so is Disney's "The many adventures of Winnie the Pooh".

My god...!

This series needs a new injection of creativity and ideas. I don't want these films to end here, but I don't want them to lose the plot either. Para 3 was a fantastic entry with innovative ideas and a dumb ending that held it back. Unfortunately that dumb ending has shifted the mythology of the films, and this film feels the need to run with it. If only they could undo that bit.

A lot like the other films, but expected nothing more. I do like the style, but for some people it must be boring as hell. The ending was good tho (-;
