What role does intelligence play in dating and relationships? I had never seen a film dealing with this subject so directly. A philosophy professor from Paris is sent to a small french village for a year and he meets a hairdresser with a less than average IQ. Emilie Dequenne steals the show, she plays her character with dignity and stops right where she needs to stop before turning her into a chav. I can easily make the best compliment an actress can receive: I didn't see the intelligent and sophisticated Ms. Dequenne in a single scene. I just saw Jennifer the naff. The ending is great and makes the whole story believable. They couldn't have got away with any other ending. This is a romcom for intelligent people! 6 years 1 month ago
