Just like the similarly directed Deepwater Horizon, I incorrectly assumed (with both movies) it would be a blatant "Go, America!" overly patriotic movie, but it was really well put together and detailed the events really well. As someone who is just outside of Boston, I remember listening to police scanners after the event and then the day the National Guard came in, the police scanners all went quiet. It was pretty cool to watch this film go over those events. 8 months ago
It was better than I anticipated. I felt there were a few times that they forced in a joke or a one-liner to make it more, I dunno, audience friendly? It also was a little ridiculous howMarky Mark was literally there for every major event, instead of anybody else on the police force, but I can understand why they did it since he's the main character and he wasn't in every scene.Overall, a very emotional movie and I think they did a very good job of portraying the events and what the victims went through. 10 months 1 week ago
Interesting film... a good movie...
BUT, as a UK citizen who was caught up in a terrorist incident in the UK and has seen a response at first hand, it showed a disorganised and ill prepared response. It was luck, bravery and vigilance of members of the public who did the work.
Also, there is nothing special about "BOSTON STRONG". This is the HUMAN SPIRIT at work, it is pretty much the same everywhere similar incidents occur. People all over the world are, in the main, strong, resilient, caring and supportive.
RIP to the victims and thoughts to all those affected. 2 months 2 weeks ago
