Stunning and very clever.

Depp is seriously good, as always.

"Rango" is beautifully animated and features a fantastic voice performance from the always fantastic Johnny Depp, but falls short in many ways. Its story feels recycled from "Chinatown", and while it does have some noteworthy sight-gags and one-liners, most of the humour is divided squarely into jokes for kids and jokes for adults - disappointing considering the Gold standard for humour and double-entendre other animated comedies have set such as those by Pixar. The number of characters in "Rango" seems to continually grow without reason and with none given a real story with any real depth - including the eponymous hero. Ultimately, "Rango" is dry - which is rather fitting for its storyline, but boring for its viewers.

The best computer animated movie since the original Toy Story! Rango is a great film by any measure. Wonderful performances on all the characters, a gripping story that isn't afraid to get a little dark, and time given for the plot and characters to breathe without a crazy explosion or dance number every 10 seconds. Stunning animation, as well. It let me forget about the format and simply enjoy the film. Hats off to Nickelodeon and Gore Verbinski! Keep doing what you're doing. We need more of it (Dear Lord, do we ever need it).

The animation is truly amazing, its depth puts many 3D films to shame! And I found it very interesting that they chose to use less "cute" animals and still made them quite realistic (both Rango and the rattlesnake are incredible).
Also, as a western fan, I loved the references to The Man with No Name and the overall homage to the genre. Brilliant film.

The references in the movie will enhance the experience for the Western lovers. Great voices, and a dark movie for children. 8 out of 10.

A bad script disguised in beautiful animation. This is less of a tribute to other movies and the western genre than a run-through of the most common clichées. It lacks originality and a unique twist to its inspirations unlike Shrek (fairy tales) and Kung Fu Panda (martial arts movies) who both contributed something new and fresh when they first came. This one adds nothing fresh except a chamelon as its main character and I never got why. It had a few good laughs here and there but overall too boring and predictable.

Incredible animation!! A few good ideas in the movie but in the end a pretty average plot and empty characters.

Terrific animation work, but very off beat movie. Too dark for kids. Was ok, but not that much fun

The animation and the soundtrack is just wonderful. But the creativity of the setting is not that remarkable for me.

Amazing movie! The animation blew me away and made the characters rather creepy and interesting. The voice acting was awesome too! Watch it and just go along for the ride.

For someone who doesn't really like animated movies, I enjoyed this one a lot. Very creative action sequences, characters, dialogue, and a compelling story.
