Stupid plot and a bad movie overall that must be judged even more harshly considering all the much better Robin Hood films that came before it. Trying to do something different is only to be commended if it doesn't turn out to be as awful as this boring attempt to re-imagine the Robin Hood story. There were some nice stunts during the action scenes, but between the fast cuts and all the slow motion, I stopped to care about that, too.
It was indeed very boring. But I appreciate the effort. Wonderful music and pretty good job with costumes and decor in general. However, the storyline was poor, completely predictable. Too many slow motions ruined the action.
Have to agree with aneic on this one: Scott was trying something worthwhile but failed to pull it off. Too much "Robin Hood Begins" and not enough "Robin Hood".
Plus, there's room for a more serious take alongside the Costner and Flynn versions, both of which I love - there's no reason one has to choose between a fun Robin Hood and a serious one when you can have both. It's just a shame Scott's attempt at the latter is a bit of a misfire.
1938's ''Adventures of Robin Hood'' with Errol Flynn will always be the greatest, but personally I kinda liked Disney's version of Robin Hood (1973) too.

Apparently this started life as a much more interesting movie, which sadly will never get made.http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2010/05/robin_hood_script_russell_crow.html

A fresh take on the Robin Hood legend, though the movie itself is fairly run-of-the-mill.St. Gloede
It's good but pretty unremarkable for anything but the visuals and Max Von Sydow.NickolaiD
The worst «historical» movie, which I ever saw :(NickolaiD
