It's interesting to see some of the negatives listed for the movie. The movie bombed at the box office but hasa cult following and I finally watched it. Now, I am 32 years old so I am no kid, but I really enjoyed this movie. It has a fast editing pace that could bother some but I loved it. The video game vibe was fun. Also, I thought Kieran Culkin almost stole the movie as the gay roommate. So don't believe the comments that say you must be very young to love this movie. It's just not true...and stuff.

The sheer amount of creativity that went into this film blows my mind. I couldn't stop watching it even if I tried, it just hypnotizes you. Tons of gorgeous women in it, too.

I somehow made it til now (2023) without seeing this. It's a very cute movie, doesn't take itself too seriously but still has a good overall message. It was cool seeing so many of today's stars as little acting babies with small roles.

I really liked the visuals in this one. Wish more movies did this sort of thing routinely, instead of it being a rare "now we're doing an homage to video games, how clever" situation.

The best video game adaptation based on a comic book.
I had absolutely none expectations at all. I'm glad to see that I was surprise and I really enjoyed this movie.

When i saw the trailer i thought it was crap. But the movie was amazing and very fun! The characters are very interesting and fresh and "Scott" is amazing and plays his role so natural! Also the music is very good on this film! All the people who like cartoons/comics etc are going to love this movie!

Definitely a slightly under-appreciated film of 2010. Not an outstanding film, but one that will entertain anyone who has ever obsessed about a video game - particularly those of us who lived through the 1980 and early 1990s. Recommended as a piece of pure entertainment.

The story really made no sense at all (maybe it's different for those who have read the comics?) but the visuals and action made this an awesome movie.

Extra points for the Final Fantasy II theme and the bass battle. Brilliant!
