What a marvelous movie! I can't believe this is not on a single list. This movie deals with something that is still a taboo - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) - long before any other movies. It illustrates the issues involved from not only the victims point of view but also from the point of view of the family and friends of the victim and the stress the disorder places on them. Of course it has a happy Hollywood ending but that doesn't take away from its message. Wonderfully portrayed by great actors James Whitmore, Ralph Meeker and Nancy Davis (Reagan). Highly recommended viewing.
