It was quite entertaining, but I wish it was better. And it could have been better very easily. Usually crappy movies don't even try, and this one did. It used ridiculous premise to its advantage and had many creative ideas throughout the movie. But it was far from enough.
Also this movie reminded me of Birdemic (for obvious reasons, but not only). In the first half of the film the characters of the movie are playing apocalypse - they go from one place to another, occasionally save some random people, chicks carry guns that in real life would be way too heavy and terrifying for them. But while all this is happening to the main characters you can see that the life in the background is normal and there's no real apocalypse going on. Cars are going both ways as if the people are going to work rather than run from giant shark-filled tornadoes. That really throws you out of the movie. Was is so hard to find a quieter place with little cars passing by and in the final film use only those shots that weren't ruined by passing cars?
Either way the movie is bad and I am a little disappointed. Judging from RT rating I truly believed that someone with at least half a brain and a grain of imagination took over Asylum and finally made a good movie using what they have (and as little as it is, to a good filmmaker it could be more than enough to make a great flick), but it's only a bit better than before.
It tries hard (maybe too hard) to be one of those "so bad it's good" kind of movies but doesn't quite get there. On the bright side if you've ever wondered what it would look like if sharks could fly, well...
I've heard so much about this film that I went in expecting it to be the worst thing I've ever seen.
But as soon as I saw Asylum in the opening credits, my expectations dropped by 1000%.
It was absolutely terrible, but it was still pretty good for an Asylum production.

We have all sinned. This film is God's punishment.badblokebob
Gotta agree with Torgo -- this doesn't get good til near the end.Of course, it's never good-good, and no one's expecting it to be. But it's not so-bad-it's-good either, it's just crap.

Never have I laughed more genuinely, or for a longer duration in a given film as Sharknado. Can't wait to see the sequel.Frippotronic

If you are not entertained, you may need to reassess your entire worldview.High quality direction and astoundingly enriching analysis of marine fauna caught in high velocity winds.

You're goddamn right.
