   Truly under-appreciated. It is stylish, atmospheric, ridiculously well scored and has a number of scenes that enthral and linger in the mind long after viewing.
   
   Scary as shit too, turn the lights off and get the headphones on.

   This is probably my favorite game adaptation so far. The Silent Hill games are creepy, and so is this film. It really has a disturbing feel to it. Genuinely eerie. It shows that the director is actually a fan of the game(s). 13 years 7 months ago

   Surprisingly competent. Incredible set design, decent effects, and a truly disturbing atmosphere. It did run out of steam in the latter half and some plot lines seemed superfluous; plus, once all the tricks are out on the table nothing seems quite as creepy any more. The main thing going against Silent Hill, though, is the lamentable dialogue and often wooden performances (I'm looking at you Laurie Holden!) Not having played the games, I definitely have the sense that they are considerably more effective than the film. 9 years 11 months ago
