Rudolf Hrušínský was absolutely amazing in the lead, a great Czech film.

Frequently labeled as a horror film, yeah, there is a killer but that is not enough. A good movie but better to be enjoyed without the horror genre expectatives. More like a drama maybe?

Give this film a chance and you will be heavily rewarded. Even if you are not that into experimental cinema.

Not sure how this is a masterpiece. This is definitely an interesting movie and a Drama. This is in no way a horror film and I don't understand why it is on so many horror lists including TSZDT. The movie is also pretty slow ramping up, but good acting all around. Very weird movie.

Watching this solidifies my dislike for the Czech new wave. I only like Loves of A Blonde and Ucho.

I actually like the Czech touch better when it is diluted in the American movies of Forman and Passer.

The same goes for Rhum, I only like it in Pinã Coladas.

Oh, and how the hell is this a horror film?
