Raul Julia died while in a coma just days before his last theatrical movie, Street Fighter (1994), was finished. The film is dedicated to his memory. He accepted the role of M. Bison because his children were fans of the video games.

I wasn't sure I would get into Street Fighter, given that I know next to nothing about the game it's based on. I've seen the last iteration on Xbox, but I'm not a fan of fighting games. To me, it was complete nonsense, but I got into it thanks to Raul Julia's campy (and sadly, last) performance as the villain Bison (and partly because Ming-Na can do no wrong in my book). But a Van Damme movie? Not so much. Just too many characters from the game running around to develop "Guile" very much. He only gets to fight Bison at the end because he's Van Damme.
It's so bad it's hilariously good. If you haven't seen it then it should be a laugh a minute for any Street Fighter fan just to think WHY IS THIS A THING?!
Nobody looks like the characters they're acting until half way through, nothing makes any sense according to the game, the whole story makes no sense AND ACTUALLY YES THERE WAS ONE HADOUKEN. All of Zangief's shots are complete masterpieces be it any of his totally well written lines or his amazing facial expression changes, and Dee Jay should have indeed stayed with Microsoft.
Don't forget to play the SNES game, Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game! It's just as bad.
Definitely pretty good in that cheesy, popcorny way. Can't imagine that too many of the game's fans were too enthused by it though. Quite a few decent jokes thrown in which only adds to the fun.

"It's so bad it is actually good." I have to agree, and I'll just add that it really is horrible. :)Quatrus

In fact, read the spoiler. It's not as if it makes any difference. The film will still be terrible.
