If you are a fan of Schubert music this film is a must. If you were poor and loved a girl a masterwork.

Mostly wonderful but, oh, did I dislike that "fantasy sequence" at the end. Noooo.

A very boring one in which you follow a poor couple struggling with poverty and depression in post-war Japan.
