An amazing movie, made into an "okay" movie by the last act. Complete 180 of tone, and heavy-handed, annoying direction toward the end. What a shame. For most of the film it is utterly hypnotic, and then...
A good movie until the "let's put a zombie here to give some action to the finale" started. No need. It was good enough just being a good hard-core sci-fi movie. And without inflated speeches, a thing that is nearly impossible these days in Hollywood.
A really meh Hollywood third act that feels completely out of place with the first two-thirds of the movie. That being said, the first two acts are worth it.
This makes it to the top 3 in my favorite SciFi films. It was just beautiful!! I loved the premise of a dying sun, and obviously quite some research was done! However the second half (last third?) bit of the film where it degenerated into every other sci fi trope of ship-crew-chased-by-mysterious-thing almost ruined it for me. Almost. I guess it was the charming cast (Murphy is such an adorable lead!), loved the multi-raciality(??) of the cast and obviously the biggest star, Icarus. She was a sight to look at. Makes *me* want to go to the sun... Only not so much :p
beautiful movie. boyle is annoying with his editing as usual and the blurry superhuman antagonist was rather stupid but the cast is solid, visuals are great, and the story is well-paced. if you can put aside scientific criticisms and put up with boyle's style, Sunshine is a worthwhile experience.
definitely dampened my enthusiasm for it. I reaaally don't like it when they do that in films, and oh boy did they ever in this one. Ugh.
...if you can look past that, however, then it's a great film. Fantastic acting, cinematography, sound, etc. Would be in my collection for sure if it wasn't for the aforementioned twist.
At some points during the movie they decided to switch to completely different genre which throws you really off guard. In addition there is some weird editing which leaves out scenes
A science fiction film that might have been formulaic if not for the stylish direction and hard sf approach so uncommonly used in such things. Even when it becomes philosophical, it doesn't stray into nonsensical science fantasy. Danny Boyle has yet to disappoint me, and lookie here, Michelle Yeoh's in it(!). Recommended to all the folks who let it slip by unnoticed (I blame the title, personally).
I'm not a fan of the last third of the film, but overall it's good science fiction and worth watching if you like the genre. The last scene with Cillian Murphy was beautiful!

I want a director o fan cut which gets rid of some of the last scenes in order to make this film a masterpiecePublic Enemy
Started out good enough but then Freddy came out. By that time it had already taken a downward turn.Bayushiseni

Ugh, I was so annoyed by the evil superhuman, just wanted to stab him in the eye. The ending pretty much ruined it for me.Pratsy

I am a big fan of Danny Boyle, and he never disappoints me. This movie does not only show great special effects, it has also a very heartfelt story.paizlea
