A really weird fantasy horror. I enjoyed the art direction and the set desings, but found the plot(s) less interesting. I am no fan of this kind of episodic approach to moviemaking which makes the characters and stories les interesting than if they made one coherent story which would gradually build itself up. Angela Lansbury as the old grandmother was a delight and the special effects were really good. I love those old cheesy 80s effects and would choose them any day over modern CGI.

One of my favorites. Defies categorization - part horror, part fairytale, part romance, and chock full of symbolism. Lots of beautiful and haunting imagery.

Marmalade

Went in expecting some cheesy 80s horror schlock, but walked out blown away. This is a tremendously nuanced little gem. The script is terrific.

Angela Lansbury is the only element in this film that makes it remotely worthwhile. Everything else is desultory and qualitatively grim (pun intended). In short: British horror gone to the dogs.
