How to budget your low-end sci-fi thriller? Invisible aliens!! Brilliant!!
This was a lot of fun in the way that old-school monster/alien survival films typically are: learning the rules of how monster-X works, devising a plan, and seeing who dies along the way in what damn-fool way. The idea of electric devices revealing the aliens as they move around is both massively stupid and very effective. Who needs expensive CGI when you can just turn a light on and off and play scary music? I really do miss these gimmick movies, and I'm glad to see them still being made.
See this for a fast (under 90 minutes) and fun, imaginitive adventure. At least it's not set in LA or directed by Michael Bay, yeah? 6 years 8 months ago
Enjoyable as a lightweight cheezy scifi movie. Predictable with standard characters, a couple novel points here and there. I don't regret watching it. I was extremely thankful however that they didn't ruin the movie since they avoidedhaving an ending where the protagonists semi-magically stumbled upon a way to destroy all the aliens and instantly save the world/bring everyone back to life/cure cancer/ban carrot top from acting ect. The fact they stumbled across some guy with a fully Faraday caged apartment and microwave gun was too much of a stretch to begin with. any more would have completely ruined the movie.7 years 3 months ago
