   The plot was pretty good actually, but towards the end I felt it lost some of its consistency. The romancey stuff was very awkward and made me feel a bit queasy, but then I guess that (some) teenagers are into that sort of tackyness and they would enjoy that. Having not read the book (in fact, at the time of watching the movie I didn't even know it was based on a book), I was expecting to see a pretty solid sci-fi movie, and while it was a sci-fi movie, I would argue that the romantic parts played too big a role for a sci-fi movie fan to fully enjoy this movie.

   Also, I felt that Melanie's voice inside Wanderer's head was at times very annoying and awkward, not because of what she was saying, but because I got the feeling Saoirse Ronan was just reading the text from the paper and not putting any soul into it.

   I wasn't expecting anything from this just eat my popcorns and enjoy the cinema.. and that was a success. Don't judge a book by its cover (in this case by its author) and enjoy.. I kinda like it, Its not the movie of the year but it was fresh (new actors) and with a positive outcome non violent film about aliens and this film wasn't about aliens but about humans. 10 years ago
