More than average, less than brilliant. Good, enthralling and I liked Gosling and Clooney. Nothing majorly special, though.
"The Ides of March" is a political-junkie's movie made by Mr. Clooney who is, I assume, a political-junkie himself. A stellar cast of Oscar winners tells the story of a campaign staffer and how politics changes him. All the roles are well acted, particularly Clooney and the drama is a riveting thrill for those into politics and its machinations. If you're not interested in politics, this might not be your cup of tea as much of the intrigue arises from that. That being said, "The Ides of March" is a good political drama that has the stuff to be the kind of film that is looked back on as great in a a few years. Clooney's direction is as sure-footed as ever.
