thought it was alright- It's been ages since I've seen the original, so I can't really compare. I thought this one was a little too long, and I'm annoyed that they still called it The Karate Kid even though it was about Kung Fu (they even mentioned that they're not the same thing in the movie!!), but it was enjoyable overall.

I originally wrote this movie off. But after seeing it recently, I think it might be better than the original. The movie is a lot less goofy and cares about establishing good themes. The only thing I disagree with is the inclusion of the love interest. She is flat, boring, and doesn't fit in well with the story. His mom is also flat for that matter (though I'm only talking about her character in this instance).
