It's hurts to say because the subject matter is worthy of a good film and the cast are all great but this movie is bungled from start to finish. No drama, no tension, no humour (that really works) and it takes a long time to go nowhere. A real disappointment given the elements to work with.

It should be a good movie considering the story and the cast but they screwed it up. Terrible!

Sorry, I have to say this is one of the worst films I've seen in a while. Its biggest problem is that it can't decide what it want to be. Is it a comedy, drama or an action? A little bit of all doesn't cut it.

The storyline is awefull and most of the time it doesn't make sense. To add to this, all the movies characters are characterized by being more shallow than a tea cup. Their "band of brothers" isn't thrust wordy and Blanchett as a french art girl is ridiculous.

Do not watch.

A movie with the premise as written was never going to be 'Die Hard'. I enjoyed it, because you can't make art historians into James Bond - so they didn't. The film didn't belittle what they were doing, which it couldn't. It also didn't make their mission seem more important or worthy than the people on the front line getting killed, which worked. For these reasons it succeeded.

Audiences probably hoped they were in for an "Ocean's-Eleven-in-fatigues." But the film's considerable star power is squandered as its headliners are divided into two-man teams. Each pair is sent to a different place in Europe... where nothing much happens. Alexandre Desplat's aimlessly generic score is indicative of how listless even the creative team must have found the film.

When I first heard about the movie and saw the poster I tought it would be another Inglourious Basterds. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. Don't watch this with any expectations. The amazing cast may give you the idea you can't go wrong with this movie but you can. I didn't really enjoy it. The story was so sloppy and went from one thing to another. Maybe only the last 10-20 minutes were watchable.

The acting, just like the overall quality of the film, can be defined as incredibly mechanical with an occasional spurt of the overly dramatic, serving as a confusing and pointless contrast with an otherwise light-hearted approach to the story. It was all the more confusing and mildly infuriating to watch with those many failed attempts at injecting humor. I've never seen a movie with so big an identity crisis. Maybe that is the meta, "the Nazis stole the script and without it the production was lost" In that case, genius direction!

I did like the 'horse' scene. I chuckled. But it's more like a sketch, not a part of a movie. Matter of fact, they should have made this a series of funny sketches and left the more serious or dramatic scenes out. It would have turned out better. This was utterly boring.

What a dissapointment! Was really looking forward to this movie considering the cast and subject matter. But movie is dull, unfunny, no dramatic tension and unexciting with less than memorable characters. The real life heroes deserve a better movie!!!

The movie has no idea what it wants to be. It isn't nearly funny enough to be a comedy and nowhere near action packed to be an action movie. The dialogue is flat and rather pointless and none of the characters are played with any sort of enthusiasm. The whole movie jumps from one scene to the next without ever pausing to get into the plot or understand the characters. It's a good concept that was thrown into a garbage can, kicked down the street, then taken out and slapped onto the big screen.

I can see why people who expected Inglorious Basterds were disappointed.
