   A very convoluted plot involving four apparently unrelated stories about a number of people, none of them particularly likable. The idea was to offer a collage of some of Europe's contemporary problems - women trafficking, illegal work, mafias, prostitution, war crimes, exiled war criminals, racial differences, ruthless landlords and even school bullying - and the result is overwhelming for the average viewer.
   
   In addition, most of the characters are unidimensional, they are either too good or too bad, and even the "victims" are so emotionally cold, distant and bitter that it's difficult to empathise with them. Of course all stories sort of intersect in the end and offer a less than satisfactory ending, leaving you with the feeling that there is too much form and not enough substance.
