Remarkable how relevant a film can be after half a century has passed. The constant call for stricter penalties against an early treatment of criminals. In 1952 Dmytryk couldn't make a movie about a serial rapist, but by naming the shooting of women a sex crime, he still makes clear what the film is about. Prime piece of filmmaking.

What a hard-hitting movie! Wonderfully still relevant (unfortunately) and a commentary on the way we still treat - or don't treat - criminals.
