This is a very bad remake of THE INTOUCHABLES. Some scenes are almost unwatchable. Harts performance is too flat for the role and the chemistry of the two leading roles just isnt there. Cant even compare it to the original
I had no idea this was a re-make I just watched it because I love Bryan Cranston! Even playing a man paralysed from the neck down he manages to out-shine in every scene he is in! I enjoyed it but I was looking for a feel good, Saturday afternoon no-brainer and that's what this is!
I've seen both this one and The Intouchables, and I have to say...this was surprisingly good! They kept enough to remind me of the original, but changed enough to keep it fresh. I know that many people weren't a fan of the changes (such as the romantic relationship, Del having a kid instead of a brother, etc.), but I'm glad that they did. I didn't want to watch a copy-and-paste version of the original. If I wanted that...I'd watch the original.
The actors were all fantastic, with both leads absolutely nailing their roles. Their chemistry was fantastic, and neither of them hammed it up (which is one thing that I feared).
I only really watched this because I was curious what they'd do, but I'm glad that I did. If I had to choose, I'd pick the original, but I think that this still stands up on its own. They're both great films that do a wonderful job of telling a beautiful story.
to see which of your friends have seen this movie!
