Totally unexpected. An intriguing film that draws out some of the more unpleasant undercurrents of violence and misogyny in escapist role playing. It's certainly flawed in some aspects but strangely compelling. Fleshing out some of the characters would have helped, especially in the case of the elusive Lyn, who becomes more of an object quested after than an actual person--although admittedly that may well have been the intent of the filmmakers. Mark A. Krupa stands out as Bjorn, whose complexities are revealed in subtle (and not-so-subtle) gestures and expressions. 9 years 6 months ago -
