Tom Hiddleston stole the film.

A visually stunning, enjoyable popcorn flick. Performances are generally good across the board, but Tom Hiddleston's Loki steals the show once more. Make sure you stay until the very end, as there are two after credit scenes.

Completely agree. Don't know how it would work, but Loki needs his own standalone movie.

Loki was the best as usual.

Basic acting with the exception of Lokki, overloaded plot full of random events, repetitive and misplaced comic relief moments make this seem like a poor relative of other, more distinctive, superhero films.

Great actors, great visuals, great jokes, but a very dissapointing story. It had great potentials but the serving didn't work for me. There were several plot holes in the movie too. All in all this sequiel, was a bit worse than the first movie. I had the same feeling after Iron Man 2. Hope they'll make it better too, in the third movie.

Went to see Thor The Dark World, and really enjoyed it, though I can see why Natalie Portman wants out. Even though she was given a big role, she's still a damsel in distress through most of the picture, and kind of needy the rest of the way. But aside from some faffing about on Earth for comedy's sake, the story was big and bold, providing moments of incredible beauty on Asgard, opening up the world of the Nine Realms, and moving Thor and his supporting cast forward. Loki gets all the best line, and is the gem at the center of this movie, though I was pleased to see Malekith and Kurse, which were in the first Simonson issue of Thor I ever got (Christopher Eccleston is wasted as Malekith though, hidden under make-up and inside an unemotional character). The action is top notch, with some innovative turns, and Thor is a proper badass, which is what you really want from a Thor movie. Hogun the Grim (or the Grin?) is sidelined because of actor availability, sadly, though Heimdall gets in on the action, which is awesome. And a neat surprise after the main credits, though I would have done away with the bits after the whole credits, which were the very definition of "meh". Those are my impressions after seeing it once, though you can expect something a little more structured once I get the DVD. Because yeah, a sequel that outshines the original in every way.

enjoyable popcorn flick as most marvel movies are. decent story that somewhat works with plot holes excusable due to the random rules that marvel comics themselves seem to barely follow. technically quite sound with good cinematography, editing etc etc. passable acting. some really bad jokes and horrible comic timing marred some of it though. wish they hadn't tried so hard to be funny because a lot of it was pretty good.

7.5/10 would recommend for anyone looking for an enjoyable 2 hours

This wasn't the best of the recent Marvel movies. Bloathed sequel with a boring premise and lots of mumbo jumbo, a dreadful opening, totally forgetable villian and a overblown cast who are mostly wasted in underwritten roles. Sound, special effects are great though. The movie does get better as it goes along.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think Zachary Levi looks weird as Fandral?

This Movie was bad. Stealing elements of star wars, Lotr and Harry Potter, riding on sympathies for Loki (who was the only really believable charakter) with no real message or worth. What is the value of this movie? It is just like Hobbit 3 a visiual overflow concealing the flaws and weakpoints of the plot and characters. Not to mention how they just twisted and turned the mythology so it would fit to a fricking sequel... THE DARK ELFS WERE NOT THE FIRST TO BE GODDAMMIT.

Visually it's stunning but not very original, as it looks like a mash-up of other popular movies and tv-shows (the most obvious being The lord of the rings). The comedic moments are awkward and out of place. There's a good amount of great actors handling material that might be under their standards, but that is decent in the context of a superhero movie. If you like the genre and are familiar with this saga it's good entertainment.

As a lover of the Marvel superheros, this was a must see. However it wasn't all that it was cut out to be. Marvel is losing it's touch trying too hard to be funny and comical. See Iron Man 3 for instance.
The only great thing about this movie was Tom Hiddleston. He was absolutely fantastic and Loki definitely needs his own movie.
