Impressive for a film based on a book. Sure, the book was better but that's because it had more time. Simply loved it.

Very lovable and well-played characters, but a poorly written story (as for the film at least, can't judge about the book). It took me a long time to get into the story a little bit. The trial sure was interesting, but it felt like it wasn't given a central place within the film. The ending (last 15 minutes) was quite nice, but it alone had to save the film, by giving it some metaphorical meaning. This was nearly ruined by Scout coming to tell her father that arresting Boo Radley would be like killing a mockingbird. Why thanks, you just gave away the point of the whole movie.

Don't watch it on youtube or download it. Buy it and watch it on a widescreen. Trust me, it is worth it!

Fantastic production-wise, but that plot was on crack a little bit.

Oscar-bait before Oscar-bait existed. One of those "classic" books everyone should read at least once. Hell, even David Beckham's wife has...

Ah, proto-whiteguilt movie for mediocre mid 20th century American Audience. The artistic work on this movie was good though, especially opening scene was somehow made me recall the some water scenes in Stalker. And also the little girl Scout was brilliant. But I couldn't stand the early white guilt and "look how tolerant we are towards the blacks, crooked ones, retards, and the lawyers " attitude. I'm pretty sure a dislike from me for this movie would not bother anyone. Ah you pathetic Americans, I wish you made this movie higher on the imdb top 250 list, and then I could feel more pity for you, but imdb is international, so even this movie shows how you feel guilt towards your own hypocritical whiteness.
