Everybody there opinion, that's OK. I think the complete opposite! Brilliant scenes, great directing, incredible spot-on music and a amazing story you don't find anywhere else. A masterpiece.

Although it falters in season 2, for one perfect moment Twin Peaks gave TV a much needed shot in the arm.

I have an unpopular opinion, but I know that others share this. I believe that season 2 was vastly inferior to season 1. From all of the drama, unnecessary weirdness/randomness, extra (unneeded) characters, the long & drawn-out scenes and storylines...it felt like the passion and charm were gone. It didn't help with the spoiler early on.
Here's a thread that explains most of what I'm meaning: https://www.quora.com/When-did-Twin-Peaks-jump-the-shark

I know that a lot of people will disagree and say that the second season was perfect, but for me I just hope that season 3 captures the magic and brilliance of the first.

I don't expect high production standards from a TV-series. This one isn't very different from most of them. Some scenes seem to lack any direction. I don't think the writing is very good either. I didn't bother to watch the second season. The music, which was repeated continuously, was very annoying, too. Some performances are quite good, others are lacking (eg. James, the sheriff...).
