Almodóvar stays with his favorite theme: women. Penélope Cruz steals the show, as she floats between vulnerability and complete domination of scene after scene. When she lip syncs "Volver", by Carlos Gardel, your soul (if you have one) is moved, perhaps stolen.

It is exactly a Soap Opera. But this is one of the very best feature length Soap Operas you'll ever see.
